Online Counselling

How does Counselling online work?

Any form of Counselling depends on the trust built up between the counsellor and client. I offer Confidential, non-judgmental, emotional support to ex-pats, oil workers, contractors, and people working and living over seas. I also do face to face counseling here in the UK. My clients are able to contact me via landline and mobile telephone, email. Initial contact with distant clients is made via telephone and email. The first hour is free, allowing the time to get to introduce our selves and give me the time to make sure I am able to deal with the client’s problem. The client has time in this hour to assess me and make sure they are comfortable with me and the procedure. We use this hour to set up web cams.

A contract is then drawn up between the client and myself outlining both our expectations and commitment, (number of sessions, time of sessions bearing in mind different time zones), as well as costs, (payment is made through paypal in advance). The contract at this point is negotiated then confirmed by email, a written copy posted to the client and signed by both parties. A web-cam is posted to the client if one is required. I like to use the web-cam because even though it’s not as ideal as being face to face we are able to see each other and I believe face to face contact over the internet is better than no visual contact at all.
